Britten-Norman's full-scale Islander first flew the skies as a prototype in June 1965. What made it unique is its lack of a center aisle between the seats in the main cabin. Instead, passengers board and disembark using three doors along each side of the fuselage. The new GWS BN-2 Islander ARF accurately and excitingly captures the scale appearance and rugged feel of the real thing. Easy to assemble and ready to fly in just a couple of evenings, the Islander comes equipped with twin direct-drive 280 motors that can later be upgraded to EDF50 ducted-fan motors.
